As the cynical Walker campaign continues to peddle its phony brown bag marketing blitz, the Democratic Party of Wisconsin today unveiled a new web ad further exposing the hypocrisy of this trite campaign gimmick.

With Walker behind the wheel of a car – dangerously driving and speaking direct to camera simultaneously – the ad wonders where is Walker driving to?

Is he going to meet his fat cat donors at the Capitol Grille?

Is he driving to the airport to catch a private jet from a big money contributor?

Is he pulling up the posh Grande Lakes Resort in Florida to rub elbows with the rich and powerful?

And perhaps most importantly for Scott Walker and his campaign team – Does Ruth’s Chris steakhouse have a drive-thru?

Walker’s Brown Bag Charade has been roundly exposed for the sham that it is. Recent reports from the Associated Press revealed that despite claiming to brown-bag it, the Walker campaign has feted big campaign contributors with expensive meals at ritzy restaurants like the Capitol Grille and Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse.

Scott Walker has also taken private jets to luxuriant private resorts to be showered in buckets of special interest cash. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/news/84743347.html

“No matter how hard he tries, Scott Walker his brown bag charade can’t hide the fact that he stands with fat cats, not with Wisconsin’s families,” said Tate.

Milwaukee County home to worst road in the state; his County Courthouse crumbles

Milwaukee County is crumbling — literally — under Scott Walker.

Under Scott Walker, maintenance backlogs on County Parks and bridges have surged and concrete has begun falling from his own County Courthouse.

Scott Walker’s Infrastructure Low-lights:

  • Walker has let his County infrastructure crumble: Deferred maintenance needs in County parks for vehicle bridges went up from $17.7 million in 2006 to $35.5 million in 2008. Deferred maintenance for County park roads went up from $44.3 million to $66.5 million. In addition, in 2008 Walker allowed 33 fully funded highway maintenance jobs to sit vacant.
  • Walker supports cutting road funding: As a State Representative, Scott Walker sided with his fellow Republicans in the Assembly to cut $6 million for road construction projects. (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 10/12/1995)

Tom Barrett’s investments in roads have been four times greater than Scott Walker’s. Mayor Barrett’s 63% increase to the city’s annual average exceeds County Executive Walker’s 17% increase to the county’s annual average by nearly fourfold.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) – A Scott Walker fundraising gimmick involving a brown bag to exemplify his stinginess recycles an award-winning idea that was first used by Ohio Republican George Voinovich 12 years ago.

Reusing successful campaign tactics certainly isn’t new. But Walker, a Republican candidate for governor, has taken the brown bag idea to a new level making it the central theme of his campaign.

Both letters were handled by the same direct mail consultant and sent in a brown bag.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Republican Scott Walker wants supporters of his campaign for governor to join his “brown bag movement” to show how serious he is about cutting government waste and spending.

Someone ought to tell his campaign about it.

Walker’s campaign has spent thousands of dollars on food and beverages, including at high-end restaurants, even as it launches a public relations blitz to promote his claim that he’s so frugal he packs his lunch every day, an Associated Press review found.

The campaign’s bills for Walker’s meals, campaign meetings that included meals for Walker, his staff and others, and food and drinks for fundraising events amount to at least $24,500 since mid-2008.
