In a new political commercial, Scott Walker pats himself on the back for returning some of his pay over the years.
What he hasn’t told you is that in 2008, in the midst of the worst economic recession in generations, he gave himself a $50,000 a year raise. In fact, Walker continues to give himself this raise despite running up the County’s deficit to $10 million.
Scott Walker talks a big game about understanding what regular people are going through in these tough times because he packs a lunch in his brown bag. But it’s all a charade. Most people don’t get to give themselves a $50,000 raise AND pose for holy pictures about all the taxpayer money they return at the same time.
In tough economic times, we need leaders looking out for us, not politicians like Scott Walker looking out for themselves.
